Social Understanding (2 day course)

Freemantles has a team of accredited Social Stories tm trainers for Carol Gray. We are offering a training package including Comic Strip Conversations, Social Context and Social Stories tm.

Autism: Behaviour Solutions

Intended for professionals working with children who had high-needs ASD, this workshop focusses on behaviour busting and sensory regulation strategies to help manage these children within a classroom environment.

Autism: Supporting Writing

This session explores the reason that children with autism struggle to access learning, particularly around writing activities. A range of practical strategies will be discussed, and there is opportunity to work through case studies as well as discussing the issues you currently face in your setting.

Autism and Happiness

It is unfortunately common for young people with autism to suffer with anxiety and other mental health issues. Justin Price (Head Teacher at Freemantles School) talks about what we can do to promote happiness and wellbeing in the young people we support, and why this is so important.

Autism: Solutions for Demand Avoidance

Why does your child say "no"? Intended for professionals working with children who present demand avoidant behaviours, this session provides the opportunity to discover underlying reasons for avoidance, understand the educational impact and gain solutions, strategies and advice.

Autism: Girls and anxiety

A look at the way that Autism can present differently in girls. Intended for professionals working with young people with autism, this session includes a look at the impact of anxiety and some strategies to support in a mainstream classroom.

Bespoke Training for your setting

The Outreach team can provide INSET training, either using the AET materials or presentations tailored to your needs. This could be delivered to groups of staff or your whole staff team.

Professionals Tours

Once per half term, a member of the team leads a free tour around Freemantles School. This gives professionals chance to see strategies in place and gain further understanding of an ASD specific setting.

Please note that all places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Places will not be confirmed until full payment is received.

In the event of low numbers, we will contact delegates and offer a place on an alternative course. In the event of high interests, we may add further dates.
