We have developed training packages to cover a wide range of subjects. The first three we would usually recommend as a package, however they can also be purchased separately.

Social StoriesTM

Accredited training, in association with Carol Gray. Freemantles was the first Social Stories Satellite School which allow us to deliver accredited Social Stories training which will ensure that staff understand how to use Social Stories effectively to help children to understand the world. Staff have the chance to write a story.

Comic Strip Conversations

This training is delivered in association with Carol Gray. We explain the value of this strategy and the way in which it is used most effectively.

Supporting and Managing Sensory Processing Difficulties in the mainstream classroom

Understanding sensory issues and using simple and practical sensory processes strategies to support the engagement of children and young people with Autism in a mainstream school setting

Looking at what helps children with autism to learn most effectively and then looking at the way that these can practically be embedded into a mainstream classroom setup.

Supported and Structured Communication for Non-verbal and Emerging Verbal Children in the Mainstream Classroom  

The Outreach team are increasingly aware that the number of children who are non-verbal or have some emerging verbal skills when they arrive in school and this course is looking at practical ways in which teachers can ensure that they are able to meet their needs.

We have a trained trainer in Intensive Interaction on Staff and have developed this course to focus on how the strategy can be used to support children with Autism across the spectrum of needs.

Anger and Anxiety

A look at the reasons behind anger and anxiety in young people with autism and suggested strategies to help.

Managing Challenging Behaviour

Delegates will explore the causes of challenging behaviour in the classroom, then learn ways to analyse the behaviour and identify strategies to help.

Social Context and its role in Sex and Relationships Education for children and young people with Autism

A session that looks to identify the risks and vulnerabilities for children and young people with autism if they are unable to understand the world of sex and relationship and discusses the steps to ensuring that people understand that children and young people need to be taught all aspects of this explicitly

Dad’s Training

Offered as set of three twilight sessions especially for Dads as they can often find it particularly difficult to attend training during the day. The sessions cover: 1. What is Autism? 2. Trusting relationships and Communication. 3. Behaviour and Emotional Wellbeing. The training is delivered by a male member of staff
